Stuff We Love To Do: Extended Stay Hotels!
For our next pit stop we were looking to check out a different type of hotel - extended stay hotels. These hotels typically feature lots of amenities, in-suite kitchenettes, and a larger living space, which we thought would be nice after a long day in the car.
After some research we found Sonesta ES Suites and contacted them about a visit. We thought the extra room would be nice, but we didn't realize just how nice it was after a 10 hour driving day! We stayed at their Dublin location, just outside of Columbus and it was beyond perfect!
Check in was a breeze, and inside our suite was a gift basket waiting that had everything from slippers and popcorn for us, to a leash, frisbee and even toys for Piper! Talk about welcoming! The suite was huge and we immediately said we wished we were staying a week instead of just a day! There was a nice large entry, with a very clean kitchen, a large living space with a couch and a huge king sized bed and large bathroom.
The hotel features a beautiful courtyard area, common BBQ, pool, and games court. There was also free-wifi, parking, and a phenomenal breakfast available in the morning! However, the best feature might've been this wonderful clean green space for dogs to run around on the grass and do their business. We loved this feature! It can be surprisingly hard to find nice clean grass to let your pup run around on while travelling! There were also lots of nice walking paths in the nearby neighbourhood that were all well lit and felt very safe. The location was also super nice and quiet, which made for a very restful night - and less distractions for your pooch!
What We Love: The dog-friendly set-up and details! From the staff, the welcome bag, the quiet nature of this hotel, and allocated green space. This is clearly the place to stay if you want to bring your dog with the family and have a nice relaxing holiday. The Sonesta ES Suites are a holiday on their own and a great option for dog-friendly travel.
